SHAMI Seafood is a family-owned business with over 30 years of experience in the seafood trade, proudly serving families, caterers, and businesses across Cape Town and beyond.

Our journey began with door-to-door sales of fresh fish, building strong relationships with customers and developing a deep understanding of the seafood industry from the ground up. In 2001, we took a major step forward by creating the SHAMI brand, allowing us to import and supply our own range of high-quality products, including our popular head-on deveined prawns, headless prawns, and crumbed prawns.

As the business continued to grow, we established a central SHAMI operations hub in Cape Town, which now serves as the foundation for our logistics, sourcing, and distribution activities. Today, this hub supports our online platform, allowing customers to conveniently order seafood and everyday goods.

Through this evolution, SHAMI has embraced digital transformation to make ordering simpler and more accessible. Our online presence enables us to reach more customers while maintaining the reliability, quality, and service that have defined our business for decades.

One of our most valued services is our cut and devein service, which has been available for the past 16 years at just R10 per box for customers purchasing from us. This service adds convenience for customers and ensures prawns are perfectly prepared and ready to cook.
